From the Slopes to the Runway

Karin Victoria Silvstedt, born on September 19, 1974, in Skelleftehamn, a small town in northern Sweden, is one of the most recognisable faces in European modelling and entertainment. Athlete, model, actress, television host, singer, and investor — Victoria has spent three decades building a career that refuses to be confined to a single category. And she has done it with a pair of high arched feet that have made her a subject of considerable interest in this community.

Victoria's father captained a local ski team, and she began alpine skiing at age five. By fifteen she was competing nationally. In 1989, she placed fourth at the Swedish national alpine skiing youth championship in the giant slalom. A serious shoulder injury at sixteen ended her competitive skiing career, and her mother submitted her photograph to the Miss Hawaiian Tropics competition. She finished first runner-up.

From there: Miss Sweden 1993, where she finished runner-up. Then Miss World 1993 in South Africa, where she represented Sweden — and where she met a modelling agent from Paris. She moved to Paris and began working for Chanel, Christian Dior, Giorgio Armani, Givenchy, and Valentino. In that Paris apartment, her flatmate was a young Slovenian model called Melania. They would remain friends.

Playboy, Guess, and 500 Magazine Covers

In Palm Springs, a chance encounter with model Jennifer Driver changed direction again. Driver introduced Victoria to Hugh Hefner, who flew her to Los Angeles. She never went back to Paris.

She became Playmate of the Month in December 1996 and was named Playmate of the Year for 1997 — the first Swedish woman to hold that title. Her mother, calling the Playboy Mansion to reach her daughter and hearing the name of the house, hung up in confusion.

The Playboy years opened doors that redefined her career. She signed with Elite Models New York and landed the Guess? spokesmodel contract, succeeding Claudia Schiffer and Anna Nicole Smith. She has since appeared on over 500 magazine covers, including FHM, Glamour, GQ, Hello!, Maxim, and Vanity Fair.

Television, Film, and Monaco

Victoria's career expanded steadily beyond modelling. She hosted La Roue de la fortune in France and La ruota della fortuna in Italy — the local versions of Wheel of Fortune — presenting live television in a language she learned rapidly. She appeared in films including BASEketball, Out Cold, Boat Trip, and the French film Heartbreaker alongside Romain Duris and Vanessa Paradis. She starred in her own E! reality series, Victoria Silvstedt: My Perfect Life.

In 2011, she became a resident of Monaco. She attends the Cannes Film Festival annually, the Rose Ball, the amfAR Gala. In 2025, she returned to music, competing in Melodifestivalen 2025 with the song Love It!

High Arches on a Runway Scale

At 5'10½'' (179 cm) with a shoe size of US 9.5 / EU 41, Victoria Silvstedt has the proportions of a woman built for the runway — and feet that match. The high arch is visible throughout her career — from poolside Playboy shoots to recent red carpet appearances in Monaco and Cannes. In barefoot photographs, the medial longitudinal arch lifts cleanly and significantly from any flat surface, creating the negative space beneath the midfoot that defines a genuinely high arch.

Her athletic background — years of competitive alpine skiing from age five — developed the lower leg musculature and foot structure long before her modelling career began. The result is a foot with the structure of an athlete and the presentation of a model: maintained, proportionate, and visually striking.
